Fees

Outpatient Appointments

Please read the following information carefully, as it contains important details required by law regarding our charges. If you do not have private medical insurance and someone else will be covering your costs, we recommend sharing this page with them. Please be aware that regardless of who is paying your bill or if you have private medical insurance, you are ultimately responsible for any charges not covered by insurance.

Consultation Fees

The fees will depend on the type of problem you have.

For a standard orthopaedic review the cost of review will be no more than as follows:

  • Initial Consultation: Up to £350
  • Follow-Up Consultations: Up to £250 each

After your consultation, you may require additional tests (such as blood tests or imaging like X-rays, MRIs, or CT scans) to assist our consultants in diagnosing your condition. If these tests are conducted by the clinic or hospital rather than by us, the costs will be set by the respective clinic or hospital and billed directly to you or your private medical insurer.

Should there be any fees associated with tests that we recommend, we will inform you of these costs in advance.

Private Medical Insurance

If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer prior to your consultation to verify the details of your policy. Specifically, check the level and type of outpatient cover you have, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees.

Financial Interests

We are required by law to disclose any financial interests we may have in private hospitals, clinics, or medical equipment. We confirm that Oxford Limb Reconstruction and Infection Clinic (OLRIC) has no financial interests in any private hospitals, clinics, or medical equipment providers.

Quality Information

You can compare independent information about the quality of private treatments offered at various hospitals and healthcare providers through the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) website: www.phin.org.uk.
