Referrals
We offer a multidisciplinary review for individuals affected by bone infection. We can also review cases with fractures that are not healing or when there are signs of implants that are failing. If required, we can undertake implant removal to support recovery and are able to consider further treatment to manage acquired post traumatic limb deformity.
Many of our treated patients have been told that their condition is untreatable or have had several unsuccessful operations. We aim to offer a comprehensive review to see if we can offer a solution.
A referral can be made by registering using the Patient Portal using the following link:

Who can make a referral?
Case Managers
We work with case managers for patients who have suffered complications following multiple injuries. We understand the importance placed on moving along the road to recovery and recognise the disruption caused by an unanticipated complication if it should arise. Before meeting us, patients often report feeling like they are stuck in limbo, awaiting a treatment plan or surgery. We aim to identify and address the obstacles in the way of progress back towards optimal independence.
Those with complex fractures may have problems in getting the bone healed (a non-union) or have developed problem cause by the bone healing in the wrong way (called a malunion). We can offer treatments for these complex cases. We are also able to offer second opinions about treatment for reassurance or to identify potential options to expedite recovery. We are also able to offer surgery to support return to recovery, such as metalwork removal or non-union surgery, particularly when there are delays in accessing treatment due to prolonged waiting lists.
Foreign Nationals and Embassy Referrals
We have helped patients across the country and internationally. We have worked alongside embassies in treating foreign nationals. We can review imaging or if required, we can offer video conference review of cases to provide advice on potential treatment strategies to give estimates on the treatment that might be required.
GPs
We accept referral from general practitioners for those wishing to get a quick review of their problem.
Physiotherapists
We can review current therapy plans and consider options in improving independence and rehabilitation. This is especially true for patients treated using external fixators or those with multiple injuries.
Self-Referral
If you wish to seek a second opinion about your treatment it is possible to self-refer. You can do this via the self-referral link. It is usually helpful to have some information about your previous treatment in the form of clinic letters, operation notes or the results of any previously undertaken investigations. Details of any previous treatment centres is also useful to allow digital transfer of imaging studies, of previously undertaken. A copy of your GP summary is also helpful.
